Beth Fastiggi is Director of Community Relations for Verizon Vermont . In this role, Beth manages the Verizon Foundation, represents Verizon at public events, coordinates Verizon employee communications and serves as the spokesperson for Verizon Vermont . Much of her 18 years at Verizon have been spent in technical positions including telecommunications engineer. She graduated from UVM in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and earned her Masters in Business Administration from UVM in 1997.

Beth is a reading mentor at Edmunds Elementary School in Burlington . She is on the board of directors of the United Way of Chittenden County , Everybody Wins! VT, the Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center and the Vermont Chamber of Commerce's Business/Education Partnership. She resides in Burlington.

Julia Gilbert - Vice President of Advertising and Customer Development for Country Home Products. Ms. Gilbert joined Country Home Products in 1992 and currently oversees Advertising, Web, Circulation, Marketing Analysis and Public Relations. Ms. Gilbert is a marketing professional with over 20 years experience in direct marketing and strategic development. Prior to joining Country Home Products, Ms. Gilbert held marketing positions with National Public Radio, the National Gardening Association, and Yankee Publishing. She lives in Charlotte , VT , with her husband and three young children.

Bill Kenerson and Deb Venman are married and are co-owners of Beau Ties Ltd. of Vermont . Bill is a Yale graduate who spent most of his working career in personnel/human resources for various industries. He served as Vermont 's Commissioner of Economic Development under governors Richard Snelling and Howard Dean. Before starting up Beau Ties Ltd., he was Director of the Addison County Regional Economic Development Corporation.

Deb Venman is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College . She has played several roles in the Middlebury community. She was instrumental in the establishment of a consignment shop to benefit the local hospital; was Executive Directpr for the Addison County United Way ; served as a member of the elementary school board and as Chairperson of Port Medical Center's Board of Directors. She became an attorney the hard way by reading the law at the local law firm of Neuse & Smith (now Neuse, Smith & Venman) while auditing classes at Vermont Law School.

John McCright is the news editor at the Addison Independent, a twice-weekly community newspaper in Middlebury , Vermont . Before coming to the Independent in the fall of 2004, he was a department editor at eWEEK (formerly PC Week), a national publication covering information technology and e-commerce for corporate IT professionals. McCright's resume also includes stints at the Boston Business Journal, where he covered high tech, and VideoGuide Inc., where he was the editor of a national news service that delivered stories to consumers via a wireless transmission scheme.

Mary E. McLaughlin is a veteran of the cable and telecommunications industry. She began her career in 1994 with Continental Cablevision's New England Region, serving in a variety of legal and government relations roles, including that of General Counsel and Regional Director of Government Relations.

In 2000, Mary became the Vice President of Acquired Business Integration for AT&T
Broadband/New England. In this capacity Mary was responsible for the successful business integration of two major acquisitions/mergers that encompassed the total addition of 600,000 customers, 1600 employees and $307 million in revenue to the region. As merger and acquisition activity stalled, Mary changed her focus and, in January 2002, she took on the position as Vice President Public Affairs and Communications for AT&T Broadband/New England.

Mary joined Adelphia in June, 2003 and currently serves as Area Vice President for VT/NH/ENY. In this role, Mary is responsible for business operations serving more than 265,000 customers and accounting for more than $200M in annual revenues.

Immediately prior to her current role, Mary served as Regional Vice President of Law and Public Policy for the Adelphia's Northeast Region. As RVP of Law and Public Policy, Mary was a critical force in negotiating a major settlement with the State of Vermont which ended years of litigation and marked the end of highly contentious relationships between Adelphia and its Vermont regulators.

Pieter Schiller joined Advanced Technology Ventures in 1986 as the first General Partner devoted to focusing solely on health care investments. His 25 years of executive experience in operations and finance has helped guide more than a dozen emerging companies into becoming successful industry leaders.

Pieter's track record of success includes Cytyc Corporation NASDAQ: (CYTC), developer of the ThinPrep? pap smear screening system, Novoste Corp (NOVT), a surgical device company and CollaGenex Pharmaceuticals, Inc (CGPI), which developed PerioStat?, a once-a-day capsule for the treatment of periodontal disease. Pieter is currently on the Board of several private companies, including Ardais, Endius, and CytoLogix.

Prior to joining ATV, Pieter held numerous executive positions at Honeywell International and its predecessor companies, including President and CEO of its subsidiary, Instrumentation Laboratory. As Corporate Vice President of Allied Signal, Pieter created and directed the task force that led the highly successful post-merger integration of Allied Corp. and Bendix Corp.

Pieter earned a BA in Economics from Middlebury College and an MBA from New York University .

Mr. Riggs is the Managing Member of Balfour, LLC a firm specializing in early-stage entrepreneurial activities in healthcare and bio-technology. He served as President and Director of Biomatrix Corporation until it was sold to Genzyme Corporation in December, 2000. Biomatrix's lead product, Synvisc, is currently the third largest product for the treatment of osteoarthritis sold in the US . Prior to joining Biomatrix Mr. Riggs was a Director, President and CEO of the RF&P Corporation from 1991 to 1995. RF&P was sold in 1995 to the real estate arm of Lazard Freres. Prior to that Mr. Riggs was a Managing Director in Mergers and Acquisitions at Paine Webber and an associate with Strategic Planning Associates, the predecessor company to Mercer Management Consulting. He has been involved in the start-up of many companies

including: Sugen Inc., Selectide Inc., FibroGen Inc. and Royalty Pharma, Cibus Genetics, LLC and ChondroGene Ltd.

Mr. Riggs earned his BA from Middlebury College in 1975, and received his MBA from Columbia University.

A Managing Director of Centennial Ventures, Mr. Schutz joined the firm in 1987 and made partner the same year. He is in his 21st year of full-time, direct venture capital investing. He has served on the boards of numerous public and private companies.
Jeffrey holds an A.B. in Economics from Middlebury College and an M.B.A. from Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia .

Don Siegrist is co-founder and Senior Vice President, responsible for Research and Development and Operations at HealthShare Technology, Inc. Prior to HealthShare, Don was Director of New Product Development at Kenan Technologies and oversaw the development, marketing, and launch of several software products including geographic information, survey analysis, and telecommunications billing systems.

Previously, Don was Director of Special Projects at Transition Systems Inc., a decision support software company for healthcare. While there, he played a leading role in developing, marketing, and implementing the company's software and consulting products.

Don has also been a consultant for DWS Associates and an economist for the Hartford Insurance Group.

He received an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology ( Sloan School ), an MA in Economics from Trinity College , and a BA in Mathematics and Economics from Middlebury College .

Rick Siegrist is co-founder, President and CEO of HealthShare Technology, Inc., a software company focusing on comparative information and decision support for hospitals, health plans and employers. He is also Adjunct Lecturer on Management at the Harvard School of Public Health where he has taught financial management, management control and decision support for the last 20 years in the graduate and executive education programs.

Rick was previously a co-founder and Vice President of Transition Systems, Inc. (TSI), a leading cost accounting and decision support vendor for hospitals that is now part of Eclipsys. He began his career in healthcare at New England Medical Center in Boston .

Rick Siegrist has a BA in Political Economy from Williams College , an MS in Accounting from the NYU Graduate School of Business and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He is also a CPA.
