VP for Online Organizing at EchoDitto
As the National Meetup Director for Governor Howard Dean's presidential campaign, Michael Silberman managed grassroots field organizing and leadership development programs for Dean's activist base. He oversaw the successful growth of Dean's monthly “meetup” program in 1,200 neighborhoods worldwide and developed a multi-faceted communications and online organizing strategy that kept over 2,000 grassroots leaders engaged and directly connected to the national headquarters.
Michael currently serves as VP for Online Organizing at EchoDitto (www.echoditto.com), a progressive internet strategy firm in Washington , DC that he co-founded with other core members of the Dean internet team. EchoDitto specializes in harnessing current and emerging technologies to build and sustain vibrant, active communities around issues, candidates, or products.
Prior to joining the Dean campaign, Michael gained valuable organizing and political experience at the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) and in the Clinton White House at the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ). Silberman is an alumnus of Middlebury College , where he earned his bachelor's degree in political science and environmental studies.
