President, Marlboro College

Marlboro College President Paul LeBlanc has recently overseen the launch of the two first-of-their-kind graduate programs focusing on Internet technologies: a Master of Arts in Teaching with Internet Technologies and a Master of Science in Internet Strategy Management, the first e-commerce degree program in the country. He also serves as Director of The Graduate Center, based in Brattleboro, Vermont, and recently oversaw the purchase of the building and launch of the Marlboro College Technology Center, housing technology start ups and an incubator for new companies.

Dr. LeBlanc has worn hats in both the world of academia and that of business technology and is a member of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges Task Force on Distance Education and a member of the Commission. He has also served on NEASC accreditation teams. A tenured English professor and former Chair of the Humanities (at Springfield College), Paul LeBlanc spent three years as Vice President and Director of Houghton Mifflin's higher education technology division, designing and overseeing the development of new software products. The co?author of "Computers and Writing: A History," Technology Editor for the NCTE's "Encyclopedia of English Studies and Language Arts," author of "Writing Teachers Writing Software: Creating Our Place in the Electronic Age," LeBlanc has been interviewed extensively in the media, including NPR, numerous talk shows, and many newspapers and magazines.

He was the former Chair of NCTE's Instructional Technology Committee and was the Software Editor for "Computers and Composition." He was a member of the Board of Directors for CONDUIT Software Publishing and is the co?editor of "Re?Imaging Computers and Composition: Teaching and Research in the Virtual Age," which includes his chapter "Ringing in the Virtual Age: Hypermedia Authoring Software and Revival of Faculty?Based Software Development."

Dr. LeBlanc completed his Ph.D. in English at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where his research focused on technology, writing, and literacy.
