Vice President, Digital Strategies. CheckOut.com
As Vice President of Digital Strategies for CheckOut.com, Jason Fiber is responsible for identifying and expanding the Company's audio and video digital distribution assets. Fiber, who joined CheckOut.com from Wherehouse Music after the companies merged their Web site operations, has been elected to build CheckOut.com's digital distribution infrastructure and broadband strategy. In this capacity, Fiber will oversee digital downloads, streaming, in-store digital kiosks and broadband audio & video initiatives.
Fiber comes to CheckOut.com with extensive expertise in both the online and music arenas. While at Wherehouse Music from September 1998 through December 1999, Fiber was Vice President of Internet Services responsible for building & running the Company's Internet business (WherehouseMusic.com), creating & launching The Wherehouse Music Lounge (a weekly live streaming video event) and overseeing all digital in-store kiosk & listening station projects.
Prior to joining Wherehouse Music, Fiber was in charge of the Interactive Music Group at iXL, a leading Internet development and consulting firm. At iXL Fiber was responsible for securing new clients in the music industry and overseeing the firm's music clientele including building sites for Spinner.com, The Velvet Rope, Alanis Morisette, Stone Temple Pilots, Rage Against the Machine, as well as Guess Clothing, UPN Television, SegaSoft, Major League Soccer and many others. From September 1991 to December 1996, Fiber ran noted independent label World Domination and worked in the A&R area at Epic Records.
Fiber continues to be a voice in the online and music arenas touring the country speaking at influential conferences and trade shows including CES, Webnoize, NARM, Interactive Music Expo (IMX), Midem, among others. Born and raised in Northridge, Calif., Fiber is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara.
